Start simple; do you have a resume ready?
So you thought since looking for a job locally you won’t need a resume, you though all you will have to do is talk to the owner or the manager who is probably your neighbor and you get the job? Wrong! Though that may help, the first thing you will need is something to show your skills, experience and expertise and something to fill out the application with. Getting a degree either on campus or an online university degree will also boost your resume.
What jobs do you enjoy doing?
Just because you are looking for a job locally does not mean you cannot get the type of job that you will enjoy doing. Make a list of the jobs that you would love to do, then look for local companies that are in that industry. Remember the list of the jobs you like doing should be in line with either your experience or educationally background. Be realistic and relevant when deciding what you enjoy doing not unless you are open to going back to training or changing career line whereby you could easily do that with an online university degree.
